I'm Becca, the girl behind the blog, Heaven in a Dish.

I post recipes about sweet food and some of my family favorites (i.e. non desserts). One thing about my recipes is they are almost always easy, and delicious! Amazing food doesn't have to take hours in the kitchen, it can just take ten minutes! If you want recipes that are delicious, yet semi-easy, this is the place to be!

A couple of things about me . . .

1. I have super long hair that I can sit on. I love having people play with it, style it, etc., but absolutely hate styling it myself!

2.I love watching kids and babysitting. And most of the time, the kids like me. 

3. I also love to bake. That's mostly why I started this blog. Almost all the recipes on here will be easy (hard desserts are not for me!)

4. I like to read, mostly historical or realistic fiction. I do NOT like science fiction, no Harry Potter for me please!

5. I also like singing. I've had to perform a few times (freak out!) with solos, and I'm in choir. If I sing alone, it's good. If I sing in front of people, usually good. If I sing unexpectedly in front of people, prepare for lots of warbling and voice cracking!

6.I like writing too. I'm pretty good at it, but don't do it that often.

7. I also like drama. I've been in a few plays but I sort of switched over to choir. I still love watching them though!


I got started with blogging when I was nine. I'd read family blogs from my mom's friends and my aunts, and started my own little fake blog on Microsoft Word. I just typed whatever I wanted, fake comments and all.

Then I got interested in dessert blogging and read blogs for about 2 years, and then I finally started my dessert blog. It was private though, so no one could read it. I started out with recipes I created with others photos, which went to me merging two different peoples photos, still with my recipes, until I got a camera for my birthday and took my own photos.

But I was tired of not being able to share my stuff. I was proud of my blog, and wanted others to see it!

So I started this blog, Heaven in a Dish. Desserts are what inspire me most, so those will be the majority of what I post. I also share my favorite recipes, ones that have been handed down through my family, like cream cheese chili dip, or my favorite pot roast.

I'm one of the youngest bloggers in my community and LOVE that. There's only a few others who do it that are my age.

My sister Emily is my partner in crime. She helps me make all my recipes, taste tests them, and helps photograph them. She's really skilled at holding up the blanket in the background.
