Mississippi Mud Pie Muddy Buddies

Mississippi Mud Pie Muddy Buddies by Heaven in a Dish -with pecans, marshmallows & nutella, perfect for football games!
So I LOVE muddy buddies
Most of my friends realize this. One of the girls I walk to the bus stop with appreciates them just as much as I do. So she made a big bowl that she just took to school with her and shared with us.

But they looked different. Most muddy buddies look ugly (see above picture) but her's were kind of pretty. But .  .  . there was something wrong with the powdered sugar. Apparently she had made homemade powdered sugar that turned out bad. It was looked just like granulated sugar instead of fluffy powdered snow.

But when I got super hungry in 2 hr, I ate her muddy buddies anyway. I have web design then, and since we finished our assignment, we were kind of messing around, looking at stupid google questions, or the suggestions that pop up. Stuff like 'when i'm alone i pretend to be a carrot' or 'help i accidentally built a shelf' or 'why can't we own Canadians'. And I'm eating muddy buddies, and laughing my head off, and that is the story of how I ended up crying with a piece of powdered sugar gone wrong flying in my nose from snorting, while getting weird looks from the boy behind me. (yes I snort when I laugh) (it wasn't sad crying, it was eyes watering) (how many possible parentheses do you think I can stick in one post) (seriously I need to stop)

Anyways I love muddy buddies, and will go to great lengths for them. Specifically, I love muddy buddy variations. These are some of the best muddy buddies I've ever had.

They've got nutella and chocolate chips, opposed to the normal pb & choc chips. They have semi melted marshmallows, and best of all, chocolate covered powdered sugar pecans. The best kind of pecans there are. I probably could have had just eaten the pecans and just left the cereal. But you shouldn't though, because the chex is pretty good too.

The textures in this are perfect, you've got your squishy marshmallows, your chocolate covered chex, and the crunchy pecans. It's amazing.

If you ever get your hands on some pecans and chex at the same time, MAKE THIS! Or just eat it for any reason it all, because it is so yummy and addictive.

Inspired by mississippi mud pie, these muddy buddies are highly addictive and delicious with nutella, marshmallows, and pecans!
Serves: 12        Prep Time: 10 min        Total Time: 10 min.
4 stars ****
Ingredients:
  • 9 cups chex
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nutella spread
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups marshmallows
  • 2 cups pecans
Directions:
  1. Measure 9 cups of chex, 1 cup of marshmallows, and 2 cups of pecans into a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a microwaveable bowl, melt chocolate chips, nutella, and butter for one minute, or until smooth. Add vanilla, and stir.
  3. Add the remaining cup of marshmallows to the chocolate, stir until slightly melted. Microwave for ten more seconds, then stir again. This should semi-melt the marshmallows.
  4. Pour the mixture onto the cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
  5. Use a large spoon (or whatever method works for you) to scoop the cereal mixture into a 2 gallon size plastic bag (I actually usually just do a 1 gallon bag, but have to do it twice). Add powdered sugar. Seal bag and shake until coated.

These are perfect for football games or parties. My family loves college football (go BYU!), and you can't have a football party without good snacks.

Preferably pringles and muddy buddies.

Although I know I'll be making these after the season ends too!
