I've really been wanting to do a countdown of the top recipes of the year, but it seems a little weird considering that this is my first year blogging, so none of my recipes are very "popular". Another thing was that I started out at a different blog, kind of like a trial run before I switched over here.
So I'm just picking my favorites that I've made, one from each month.
Now, about the photos. For a while, I did not have a camera, but desperately wanted to be a food blogger. So I would invent my own recipes the way I do now, make them until they tasted just right. Then I would find a photo that resembled whatever I had made, and edited it. It got more advanced as I went on until I finally got a camera and took my own pictures. For a more detailed explanation of what I did, go here. But basically, the photos are not mine. I edited them so they sort of are, but really, they're not. I will put photo credit underneath every photo that technically isn't mine.
1. Boston Cream Pie Pie

Recipe, Idea & Photo Editing:Becca N. Original Photo:Punchfork
Have you ever wondered why Boston Cream Pie isn't called a cake? Because, I seriously think it's a cake. This problem had bugged me forever, so I finally decided to turn the "cake" into a pie. Also known as Boston Cream Pie Pie
I actually skipped a recipe for February, because I wasn't particularly proud of anything there, and have two recipes for August.
2. Samoa Muddy Buddies

Recipe, Idea & Photo Editing:Becca N. Original Photo:The Vegan Menu
I'm a huge fan of girl scout cookies, especially samoas, and I'm hopelessly addicted to muddy buddies. So I combined the two, and made samoa muddy buddies. These were super good, some of the best snack mix ever!
3. Triple Cookie Dough Ice Cream

Recipe, Idea, & Photo Editing:Becca N. Original Photo: The Domestic Rebel
Cookie dough flavored ice cream, with cookie dough chunks, and chocolate chips!
4. BTS Peach Poke Cake

Recipe Idea & Photo Merging: Becca N. Original Photo: Tastebook
This was a from-scratch vanilla peach cake, soaked with sweetened condensed milk, then topped with cool whip. This poke cake was AMAZING, a must make!
5. Cake Batter Cup Blossoms

All photos here on out are mine.
This was like a cake batter version of a reese's cup blossom, you know, a PB cookie with a reese's on top? The Dollar Store sells delicious cake batter cups. I took them and used them with a chewy cake batter cookie base. These were delicious, and I've made them several times since then.
6. Banana Split Pudding
I took banana pudding and added all the fixings of a banana split. This was super easy and the whole family loved it!
7. Rocky Road Muddy Buddies
These were some of my favorite muddy buddies ever. They were a lot like normal ones, but with a rocky road twist. This was super easy and I've made lots of times since.
8. S'mores Gooey Butter Cake

This was hands down, my family's favorite recipe I've made all year. It has a buttery graham cracker crust, fudgey chocolate layer, and a flakey marshmallow cream cheese topping.
9. Banana Split Banana Bread

This recipe took a few tries to perfect, but the end result was amazing. It was moist and delicious, with an occasional crunch, one of my favorites!
10. Pumpkin Pie Gooey Butter Cake

I brought back the gooey butter cake with a pumpkin twist. The flaky cream cheese topping on this complimented the pumpkin perfectly. This cake was gone within minutes (seriously, ten minutes after it came out it was all gone)
11. Cake Batter Cream Pie

I love cream pies, and for Thanksgiving I made a cake batter one. This was one of my favorite pies I've ever made, and one of the best parts was how easy it really was!
12. Cake Mix Banana Bread

This was one of my favorite banana breads ever! It's very easy to make, soft sweet and moist, and has a gooey/crackly top. I've made this at least twice this month, because it's just so good, and it's the best way to use up bananas.
Happy New Year!
I love the gooey butter cake, but it won't help me keep my new year's resolutions very well!
